The ability of the soul

stocksnap_mqvg0ba39u
As God created flesh and then breathed life into Adam, the first living soul was created. The soul is the convergence between spirit and flesh and is the middle point of the human; It is immortal and will live forever, whether with God or without.
Many Christians believe we do not have free will, but the soul proves otherwise as within it, contains the emotions, the mind and free choice. Adam freely chose to eat the apple as did Eve, and we freely have made a decision whether we need a saviour or not. So what is the ability that the soul possesses?
Mind – We either see God or desire our flesh
Emotions – We either believe truth or are deceived with lies
Free Will – We either allow our spirit to rule soul and flesh or allow the flesh to rule soul and spirit
Jesus dying on the cross enabled freedom for our souls from sin, and we have the choice to allow our soul to stay in that state on a regular basis. Jesus desires that we do all things through Him and that means working out our salvation on a day to day basis. What does this mean?
Allowing HolyGhost to live through our day to day lives
Living out our God chosen purpose
Proving on a day to day basis that Jesus’s Truth has set us free
The soul will always live, and we have a choice what we allow to come into it and what goes out of it. We also have an opportunity to experience a soulish relationship or a spiritual one with God.

Why does God’s Will never happen

stocksnap_7ph22tt1mx

God’s will can fail for our lives, and that is nothing to do with His sovereign and all-powerful nature. His will depends on many factors, and this can be a depressing read for many as there is an expectancy that God moves like the genie from Aladdin!
God is not a genie, and we see the way He moves in His Word which is the biggest and most important demonstration of how He wants His will  to be accomplished, so why do we find ourselves running away from His will?
We do not understand His Word
We lack obedience
We lose hope
Other satanic strongholds work against us as well, but they are usually easier to deal with in comparison to rebellion which is deep rooted and often covered deep in our hearts. We often want to blame Satan for stealing our blessings, but he can only steal when we operate under his principle of rebellion, for there he is the king and Victor.
The solution is simple, and the method is painful because it takes a daily working out of your salvation to accomplish God’s Will. What does this mean? Implementing faith that the flesh is dead on the cross and is no more alive.

Why do we struggle with God’s Will

stocksnap_1dhx1jvt3c

God’s will is seldom achieved because we struggle with the way He wants it to be accomplished. His will, His ways, His thoughts are perfect an beyond human understanding and reason which is why we are moved by faith to the cross yet we struggle after salvation.
Everything was accomplished on the cross, and that included having a plan and purpose for your life because every spiritual blessing is made available in and through Jesus Christ. Everything has been made available, and yet we struggle. Here are some reasons why we struggle with the way God wants to move in our lives:
We think our experience has value
Our flesh rages against the soul and spirit
We desire a sense of achievement
Looking at the surface of our hearts we genuinely believe we want God’s will and the way He wants it achieved but when we look deep within, truth does shine into the darkness, and our true nature is manifested.
Unless you despise your flesh, you will never understand how corrupt it is and how it corrupts God’s will in our lives. Jesus nailed our nature to the cross, do your best to keep it dead. Obedience is better than sacrifice.

What is God’s Will

road-nature-lines-country

Many people ask me what God’s will is and they find themselves confused about what God wants for them in their lives. We need to break it down to the basics and go to scripture and apply what Jesus wants us to be. If you want to understand God’s will please read the words of Jesus and below in three points I identify what He desires from us:
Become God’s children
Become Disciples
Become Disciple Makers
It is easy to limit the three points to Church or Christian activities, and that certainly wouldn’t be God’s will for your life because God’s will is centred in His Kingdom. Whatever you are meant to do in your life whether career, student, family or ministry you are called to be His child, disciple and disciple-maker and this should never change. Within this, we have a unique identity which propels us to into having a vision and purpose for our lives which are fruits of the three points mentioned.
The next three points highlight how you can tell if you are in God’s will:
Living in the Supernatural
Living for God and His purpose
Living in obedience to His Word
These points are difficult to execute on a regular basis, but they are the benchmarks for God’s will in your life.

Jesus commands His Disciples

Jesus spoke extensively to the disciples in private because He wanted to instruct them about how they need to live successful lives after His death and resurrection. Jesus knew it was going to be tough for them and for anyone else who took the mantle of being a disciple of Christ on. Therefore He provided His commandments and HolyGhost to help. Jesus’s commands varied but they were very specific as to how disciples need to lead successful lives; below I categorise His commandments and what He wanted us to learn:

What God expects from us – The calling
What we should expect from this life – The vision
What has been given to us by God – The purpose
The dangers of people – Wisdom
The end times – Discernment
The authority we carry – Knowledge

Jesus was very purposeful and wanted us to be equipped with the above as that is how we are meant to live our daily lives but many struggle with the commands of Jesus because He approaches them from a critical angle. Many Christians today despise criticism and promote positivity, but if we look at criticism the right way, we can draw a conclusion that it is for a positive purpose. Jesus is not condemning His disciples by commanding them with instructions but He ls trying to protect us from the hands of the enemy. The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy and Jesus knows that better than anyone so He laid down firm foundations for us to grasp and live by.

Living by these commandments can be taxing especially when life gets tough, but that is precisely why He gave us His HolyGhost. The scriptures say that HolyGhost will comfort us by reminding us of the teachings of Jesus, and it is these very commandments written over 2000 years ago that we need to be reminded of every day. How desperate are you for God’s Spirit to be in your life? How desperate are you to be reminded by God’s Spirit about Jesus’s commandments? Today people love the feel good factor of HolyGhost and attend meetings for emotional comfort and months later there is no change in their circumstances.

The greatest counsellor is HolyGhost, and He is ready willing and able to teach you about Jesus and help you be a light to this world and salt to this earth. He is willing to remind you of your authority and the dangers of the people that surround you. If you want to be a genuine disciple of Jesus, then you will love His commandments and will love to be obedient to Him concerning them. If you find yourself struggling with this, then you must recognise you need God’s Spirit in your lives.

This is what Paul means when He said, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The strength to follow His commands, not to go to work, school or if you are having a bad day. I despise those Facebook memes that are thrown about. Of course, Christ wants to strengthen us for life but it is rooted in His commands, and if you aren’t following them then there is no chance you will be fully strengthened for anything else in life.

Love His commands, Love being obedient – Then you are a disciple of Jesus
